So, you'd like your
band to do an in-store performance at
Wooden Nickel Music, but aren't sure how to get started? Read on.
In-store guidelines
First of all, we would like you to bring us a couple photos of
your band on a disc, a CD
of your songs that you would like to do in a performance, and then write how
your live
performance is. You can bring this in to the North Clinton store in a
packet for us to
look at and decide if you are eligible to have an in-store. We understand
that everyone
plays different kinds of music that appeal to different audiences. But
with our stores being
in shopping centers, loud and obscene music would be frowned upon. We
would like it if
an acoustic set could be done if at all possible to keep the noise down.
If you are a national act that would like to just have a meet and greet, we
would just need
a picture of your band.
Once you are approved
We would like to communicate via e-mail. Once we have decided that you can play at one of our stores, a date and time would need to be set. Any day is fine. Any time is fine. Any store is fine. It just has to work out with the stores. Once the date and time are set, it is up to you to get the word out. We will put signs up in our stores and this website will have a mention of the performance, but we cannot guarantee that this will bring people to the show. It would be a good idea to put an add in Whatzup magazine or something like this.
Performance
Sorry, but we don't
have any equipment at our stores so you will have to provide your own.
The performance itself should be anywhere between 25 and 45 minutes long.
Shorter would be
better so that people can just get a taste of your music so that they could be
compelled to see you
again at a later date. You can do whatever you choose during the
performance except things that
are dangerous like, say, pyrotechnics!!!
